Vertfcal artfculatfon is required to distfnguish the building’s top, middle, and 3 <br />ground story of front and side street (corner) facades. Examples of vertfcal artfculatfon include stone or 4 <br />masonry bases, belt courses, cornice lines, parapets, lintel beams, entablatures, friezes, awnings or 5 <br />canopies, changes in materials or window patterns, recessed entries, or other architectural treatments. 6 <br />1. Buildings that are between three and eight stories shall meet the following design 7 <br />requirements: 8 <br />a. Have a form that includes a ground floor/podium, and middle/upper stories. Buildings that are nine floors or more shall have a form that includes a ground floor/podium 13 <br />stories, middle stories, and upper stories. Stories can be distfnguished through different 14 <br />architectural materials and cladding, façade artfculatfons and modulatfons, and window sizes 15 <br />and types. 16
