2025 FEDERAL OVERLAY, BROADWAY – CALIFORNIA ST TO 18TH ST SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />FEDERAL AID# STBGUL-2715(012); COE PW# 3841 SP-53 May 6, 2025 <br /> <br />1-08.0(1).RTF 1 <br />Add the following new section: 2 <br /> 3 <br />1-08.0(1) Preconstruction Conference 4 <br />(July 8, 2024APWA GSP) 5 <br /> 6 <br />Prior to the Contractor beginning the work, a preconstruction conference will be held 7 <br />between the Contractor, the Engineer and such other interested parties as may be 8 <br />invited. The purpose of the preconstruction conference will be: 9 <br />1. To review the initial progress schedule; 10 <br />2. To establish a working understanding among the various parties associated or 11 <br />affected by the work; 12 <br />3. To establish and review procedures for progress payment, notifications, approvals, 13 <br />submittals, etc.; 14 <br />4. To review DBE Requirements, Training Plans, and Apprenticeship Plans, when 15 <br />applicable. 16 <br />5. To establish normal working hours for the work; 17 <br />6. To review safety standards and traffic control; and 18 <br />7. To discuss such other related items as may be pertinent to the work. 19 <br /> 20 <br />The Contractor shall prepare and submit at the preconstruction conference the following: 21 <br />1. A breakdown of all lump sum items; 22 <br />2. A preliminary schedule of working drawing submittals; and 23 <br />3. A list of material sources for approval if applicable. 24 <br /> 25 <br />F1-08.0(2).RTF.docx 26 <br />Add the following new section: 27 <br /> 28 <br />1-08.0(2) Hours of Work 29 <br />(December 8, 2014 APWA GSP) 30 <br /> 31 <br />Except in the case of emergency or unless otherwise approved by the Engineer, the 32 <br />normal working hours for the Contract shall be any consecutive 8-hour period between 33 <br />7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, exclusive of a lunch break. If the 34 <br />Contractor desires different than the normal working hours stated above, the request 35 <br />must be submitted in writing prior to the preconstruction conference, subject to the 36 <br />provisions below. The working hours for the Contract shall be established at or prior to 37 <br />the preconstruction conference. 38 <br /> 39 <br />All working hours and days are also subject to local permit and ordinance conditions (such 40 <br />as noise ordinances). 41 <br /> 42 <br />If the Contractor wishes to deviate from the established working hours, the Contractor 43 <br />shall submit a written request to the Engineer for consideration. This request shall state 44 <br />what hours are being requested, and why. Requests shall be submitted for review no 45 <br />later than 46 <br />***72 hours for day work and 30 days for night work [A Noise Variance, which shall 47 <br />be provided by the City, is required for Contract nighttime work and included as an 48 <br />appendix in these specifications.
