Drainage Maintenance Type and Frequency:
The long term maintenance plan for the proposed on-site drainage system shall
implement following items:
1) Detention Vault and Control Manhole—The proposed site detention vault with
downstream control manhole is located at the southeast corner of the parking lot.
Storage Area—check for plugged air vents.
Debris and Sediments—remove sediments if accumulated up to 6"in half vault
length.
Structural cracks in vault floor, walls, or ceiling.
Access Risers in Control Manhole—check cover, cover locking, and ladder steps.
Control riser—trash and debris removal, structural damage, cleanout gate
conditions, orifice plate obstruction and debris, overflow obstruction
2) StormFilters and CDS by Contech Stormwater Solution—There is a storm water
manhole downstream of the detention vault with 8 storm water filters and a CDS
manhole just upstream of the detention vault. Maintenance will occur according
to the manufacturer's detailed maintenance manual. A certificate of inspection
and maintenance will be submitted to the City annually.
3) Catch Basins—There are 3 proposed catch basins that provide inlets into the
proposed storm main on site.
General—trash and debris removal if outlet pipe is blocked, structural cracks,
frame not flushed with grade, presence of vegetation or chemical materials.
Cover—not in place, locking mechanism not working, cover difficult to remove.
Metal Grate—unsafe grate opening, trash and debris removal if over 20% surface
area blocking, damage.
4) Catch Basin Inserts—During construction, catch basin inserts are required in all
catch basin locations until final erosion control inspection is complete. These silt
sacks shall be maintained at intervals shown bellow.
Clean sediments and debris when sediments form a cap over the insert, insert is
saturated with water, oil saturation, and service life exceeded.
5) Landscaping—All landscaping shall be maintained according to Wetland
Mitigation Plan.
Erosion and Sedimentation Control Maintenance:
Permanent slopes and unprotected soil surfaces shall require the timely addition of grass
seed. Temporary unprotected soil surfaces require temporary erosion stabilization
including the use of loose straw, silt dikes, straw wattles, sandbag berms, erosion control
blankets, silt fence, etc. These temporary erosion control measures will require
maintenance on a regular basis and will be checked by the assigned Erosion and
7
