SLC
SILVER LAKE CENTER Access & Parking
• The many access points into the Silver Lake site that presently exist,the access points will
actually be reduced in order to improve traffic management by the mitigation of turning
movements.
• As illustrated on the Project Site Plan,primary access will be operative from south via the SR527,
from the west via 112th Street/SR527,and from 110th Street.
• The landscaped medians to be constructed as part of the SR527 widening are a most welcome
part of its design;
• Whereas significant access and egress will be provided through the existing controlled
intersections at SR527/112th and SR527/110t the Project Plan proposes a consolidated controlled
intersection access central to the project plan from the south.
• It is contemplated that such southerly access and egress will significantly reduce the traffic
loading at 112th which will accommodate dual turning movements in the upgraded configuration;
• This access will be coincident with a Pedestrian Crosswalk providing access to the Shoreland
Parkland and will be directed into the Lower Level of the project wherein a total of 435 parking
spaces are provided below the Plaza Level.
• The access to the Plaza Level is internal to the Lower Level Parking structure consists of a very
wide(36 feet)and low gradient(10%)ramp.
• The Lower Level Parking plan provides parking for the approximate 150 Residential Units within
the Project as well as the commercial service areas that are planned on the same Lower Level that
fronts on SR527.
• Such service commercial uses may include a health club as well as extensions of retail shops that
have primary access on the Plaza Level above.
• The topographic changes in the project lands enable some natural illumination along the southerly
and easterly perimeters.
• Several vertical circulation nodes are planned to connect the various levels within the project and
consist of elevators,stairs and escalators."Grand"stairs are also planned at primary points of
interest such as the Piazza at the base of the Campanile,access from the Promenade to street
level,and at a central point along the east promenade that"connects"an elevated courtyard to the
Plaza Level;
• Service access to Safeway is proposed within a masonary screen at the northeast corner of the
Project;
Silver Cake Center Project Profile Page 6 of 21
