3. OFFSITE ANALYSIS
A site reconnaissance was performed by Andrew L. Dawson, on July 10, 2007, to
verify the downstream flow paths and observe any drainage problems downstream of the
site. The weather varied between sunny with wind and overcast with a temperature of
around 60 degrees.
The project site is currently developed with one single-family home, a gravel
driveway, a shop, and a garage. No visible on-site drainage problems were observed at
the time of field investigations.
Upstream Analysis
Based on the site reconnaissance and the topographic survey of the area, the
upstream flows entering the property are very minimal.
Downstream Analysis
Please refer to the Downstream Analysis Map on the next page for a detailed
description of the downstream flow.
The majority of drainage from the site sheet flows to the north, offsite. From
there, the drainage flows north approximately 300ft into a large open channel system.
The drainage then meanders to the east into a 24" corrugated HDPE culvert that runs east
under 19th Ave SE(SR527). The drainage discharges out into a large existing detention
pond on the east side of 19th Ave SE. The visual downstream was concluded at this point.
There did not appear to be any restrictions or erosion problems within 'A mile of
the site.
