Marlene Bissell 10-Unit Condo's
Drainage Report
Section 6 - Proposed Erosion Control BMP's
General Construction Practices
Several measures are proposed to minimize erosion. During construction, silt fences will be
erected along the perimeter of the site to prevent sediment-laden stormwater from entering the
existing drainage system. Stockpiles will be covered within 24 hours. At a minimum, site
stabilization after grading is completed will include hydroseeding or equal.
Winter Construction
In addition to the best management practices described above, further measures will be proposed
if construction is to occur during the winter months, although this is not anticipated. For
protection of disturbed slopes, the preferred method is hydroseeding or mulching. Wood chips,
straw or corn stalks are acceptable materials. Other methods for protecting slopes include clear
plastic sheeting, straw with jute mat or coconut fiber mats staked in place.
8
