4. Please provide design calculations for the required drag strut members and strut connections
indicated on plan Sheet S2.1a/b and detail 6/S5.1 as these a[[ear to be missing from the permit
calculation package. It is unclear from the RISA model provided on page 68 of the permit
calculations whether the overstrength factor is captured in the Basic Load Case or is
overstrength factor need to be amplified in the Load Combination as the Om*EQ load
combination only appears to use a factor of 1.0. Please clarify.
RESUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the Building
Division with the following items:
❑ (2) New,complete sets of revised construction documents reflecting the corrections as
required.
❑ (1) Response letter detailing how the corrections were resolved.
All codes cited refer to the 2018 International Building Code (IBC), 2018 International Existing Building
Code (IEBC),the 2018 International Fire Code (IFC),the 2018 International Mechanical Code (IMC),
and/or the 2018 Washington State Energy Code(WSEC), as amended by the State of Washington and
adopted by the City of Everett. The current IBC referenced standard for accessible design is the 2009
"Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1). Federal ADA regulations and
standards may be more restrictive.
These comments address building issues only.Additional revisions or additions may be required by
other departments(such as Utilities,Traffic, Planning or Fire). All required submittals must be of
sufficient detail and information to ensure that the proposed structure will be constructed in
compliance with all adopted codes.
Sincerely,
James Bronder, PE, SE
Associate Engineer
Plans Examiner
NNE
