The project includes new windows and exterior doors. The required thermal ratings for each <br /> type of vertical fenestration should be specified. See WSEC Table R402.1.1. Thermal rating for <br /> new windows and doors are shown. See Sheet A-O General Note <br /> 7. The Basement whole house ventilation system is specified in the bathroom. The system <br /> should be located in a central area that is open to and has unobstructed air flow with the <br /> majority of the habitable space. Alternatively, the system should provide ducting to each room <br /> of the house per Section M1505.4.1.1, and the drawings should specify a requirement for <br /> testing to verify air flow rates per Section M1505.4.1.6. The system should not have a sound <br /> / rating exceeding 1.0 sones. The toilet in the Basement Plan on Sheet A-i should specify a minimum 15-inch clearance on <br /> /each side. The kitchen should specify the minimum required performance rate per IRC Table <br /> ✓M1505.4.4(1). Kitchen cooking appliances and ventilation exhaust have been removed. T e fh ollowing comments should be <br /> addressed: a. The "Energy Credits" notes on Sheet A state that the basement will have <br /> electric heating systems. These result in a neg-five energy normalization credit per WSEC Table <br /> R406.2 Item 3. The total credits required-jeer Table R406.3 is four, not two. <br /> b. The project appears to be proposing the solar panel installation as an alternative to <br /> the energy credits in Table R4963. Solar panels are covered in Option 6.1. Additional <br /> documentation should be submitted substantiating the average annual production (AC kWh); <br /> the peak output during daylight summer hours should not be used. Note that the maximum <br /> credits allowed for this option is one per 12 kWh, and a maximum of three. <br /> c.
