• Group Northwest, Inc• Grnlrchniaa{Engineers,G {U <br /> &&nvironmcnlal Specialists <br /> February 27, 2024 G-4396 <br /> Ms. Patrice Doerr <br /> 1332 Grand Avenue <br /> Everett, WA 98201 <br /> Email: patricemdoerr agmail.com <br /> Subject: Geological Assessment Letter <br /> Single Family Residence Backyard Improvements <br /> Concrete Pads for Hot Tub and Stair Landing <br /> 1332 Grand Avenue, Everett, WA 98201 <br /> Dear Ms. Patrice Doerr: <br /> At your request Mr. William Chang from GEO Group Northwest, Inc. visited the site on <br /> February 23, 2024 and met with you to review documents, take measurements at the site <br /> regarding the locations of the hot tub pad, and stair landing pad with respect to the property line <br /> and the steep slope to the west. <br /> Geology <br /> Based on the USGS geologic map for the area, the site is underlain by deposits of Advance <br /> Outwash sand (Qva) that shows up from Grand Avenue down to the Rail Road Tracks below. <br /> Advance Outwash sand (Qva) was deposited ahead of the advancing Vashon Glacier some <br /> 15,000 years ago and was subsequently overridden by 3,000 feet of ice. In its undisturbed state it <br /> is very dense. <br /> City of Everett Comments <br /> According to Mr. Alex Byrd from the City of Everrett. the concrete pads for the hot tub and the <br /> stair Ianding may have disturbed the ground and a geological assessment letter is required per <br /> EMC 19.37.070 because of the mapped landslide hazard and erosion hazard areas on the steep <br /> slope on the west half of the lot.
