August 20, 2025 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Fosse advised the public that Boards and Commissions applications are open, <br />thanked Council Member Vogeli and Rhyne for their comments, and advised the Bayside Block <br />Party is coming up soon. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy suggested reviewing Transit routes and educating the community on <br />available grocery options nearby, in response to the closure of Fred Meyer. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin advised that staff will be going door to door in the neighborhood with maps on <br />local grocery stores and will review potential options to increase Transit availability for the <br />affected neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo attended the Snohomish County Regional Law and Justice Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Government Affairs Director Jennifer Gregerson provided the grocery store handout for the <br />neighborhoods affected by the Fred Meyer closure, advised the public that the city provides trip <br />planning assistance at 425-257-7777, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. She also advised <br />the city website has been updated with additional resources at www.everettwa.gov/southstores, <br />and advised applications are open now for Boards and Commissions. She also stated the City is <br />preparing for the upcoming Charter Review. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />City Attorney David Hall requested a 10-minute executive session, pursuant to RCW <br />42.31.110(1)(i) to discuss settlement of a worker’s compensation claim, with Council action to <br />follow. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Rhyne, to approve the <br />following consent items: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - CLAIMS <br /> <br />To adopt Resolution No. 8201 authorizing claims against the City of Everett in the amount of <br />$7,818,281.65 for the period ending August 2, 2025, through August 8, 2025.
