<br /> <br />2025 TDP – FINAL DRAFT 4 <br /> <br /> <br />ABOUT <br />Everett Transit is a department of the City of Everett. It provides a comprehensive transit network with 10 fixed- <br />routes and paratransit services, covering a 34-square mile service area. These fixed routes collectively traverse <br />over 1.2 million miles annually, providing nearly two million trips. The paratransit services, designed to enhance <br />mobility for those with specific needs, cover over 400,000 miles annually and provide nearly one hundred <br />thousand trips. Everett Transit also administers the Commute Trip Reduction program for all employers in the City <br />of Everett jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Everett Transit is a municipally owned and operated transit system: <br />Department: Transit <br />Divisions: Transit Operations and Transit Services <br />Transit Services Subdivisions: Administration, Fares & Finance, Grants & Compliance, Planning, <br />Communications & Customer Service, Capital Projects, Safety & Security, and <br />Everett Station <br /> <br />The mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Everett. <br />The Transit Director is part of the mayor’s senior management team. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Mayor Cassie Franklin Mike Schmieder, Transit Director <br /> <br /> <br />The Transit department encompasses daily operations and support functions to daily operations. The Transit <br />department works in collaboration with the City’s Facilities division to manage and provide oversight to Everett <br />Station maintenance and custodial staff. Transit also works in collaboration with the Motor Vehicles division for <br />fleet procurement and vehicle maintenance. <br />The Everett Municipal Code gives the mayor the authority to modify service and adjust schedules. The Everett City <br />Council has the authority to establish fares and recommend tax rates, subject to voter approval. <br /> <br />
