10. The U-value of the proposed new windows (0.22) has been coordinated between the energy
credits as shown on note 8 of the Energy Code General Notes/sheet A-0 and the window
schedule shown on sheet A-2.
11. For the lower floor egress window, see newly-added Window Well Detail A on sheet A-2.
12. See note 8 of the Energy Code General Notes on sheet A-0 for the required 5 energy credits.
13. The whole-house ventilation system for both units is summarized on sheet A-0, and the plans
on sheet A-1 shows the location of the exhaust fans for both units, as well as how they are
ducted to the exterior.
Structural
1. General structural notes have been added to sheet A-0, which refer to the requirements in
the 2021 IRC.
2. See new added details 01 on sheet A-1, which indicatse how the lower floor existing slab will
be patched/repaired to match the existing construction.
3. See new added detail 02 on sheet A-1, which indicates the repair of the existing floor and
roof where the existing chimney is being removed.
4. The 4x8 header is new, and a beam calculation has been attached with this submittal. It is
assumed that the wall where this header is proposed is an existing bearing wall, supporting
the floor beams above, and also assumed is a concrete footing below the wall, which should
be adequate support for the small loading from the header posts.
5.
Thank you, and best regards
David Sircoloumb
ArchitectSe
