1 <br /> 15. <br /> for the use of persons ; or to in any manner break, injure or damage such <br /> fountains, troughs or vessels . <br /> Sec. 45 : AUTHORITY TO OPEN . No person shall open or interfere with <br /> any of the hydrants or gates of the City without having the proper authority. <br /> Sec. 46 : SPRINKLING . Persons engaged in sprinkling the public <br /> streets shall have the privilege of taking water from the hydrants or stand- <br /> pipes for sprinklinn purposes after having obtained permission from the <br /> Commissioner of Public Works , Provided, however, that no water can be taken <br /> from any standpipe or hydrant other than the ones designated by said Conimissione <br /> Sec . 47 : BOND. before any person shall be granted permission to use <br /> hydrants he shall give a bond in the sum of 4100.00 conditioned that he will <br /> keep the said hydrants in good repair and that he will pay any damages that ' <br /> may occur by reason of his use of said hydrants . <br /> Sec . 48 : No water from the Everett Water System: shall be used by any <br /> person for sprinkling purposes except through a nozzle . or automatic sprinkler <br /> nor except between the hours of 6 to 8 A.m . and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. <br /> Sec. 49 : ro automatic sprinkler shall be set upon or so near a side- <br /> walk that the water therefrom will fall upon the walk . <br /> Sec . 50 : Water used for the sprinkling of lawns shall be reasonably <br /> used, and not waster nor allowed to run into the street gutters . <br /> Sec . 51 : The person, firm or corporation responsible for ahy viola- <br /> tion of Sections 48,49 and 50 hereof, shall for the first offense -pay the sum <br /> of one dollar in addition to his monthly water rate and two dollars for each <br /> subsequent offense . <br /> Sec . 52 : The Commissioner of Public Works is authorized in case of ahy <br /> shortage of water to order the stoppage of all sprinkling for such time as <br /> he may fix; and after such order has bean published in the official newspaper <br /> every person violating the same shall , upon conviction, be fined in any sum not <br /> exceeding ten dollars, and the water may be shut off from the premises of such <br /> person until said fine is paid. <br /> Sec . 53 : That ordinance No . 1739 of the city of Everett , and all <br /> other ordinances in conflict with any of the provisions hereof are hereby re- <br /> pealed . <br /> Sec . 54 : An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall <br /> take effect upon its passage and publication. • <br /> d .
