• • <br /> Section 6: Said commissioner of public works shall keep <br /> an accurate account of the expenses incurred by him in carrying <br /> out the provisions of this ordinance with respect to each parcel <br /> of land entered upon therefor, and within thirty days after the <br /> said commissioner of public works shall cause to be served, mail- <br /> ed or posted in the same manner as is provided in this ordinance <br /> for giving notice to destroy such weeds, a statement of such <br /> expense, including a description of the premises, verlified by <br /> oath of the said commissioner of public works, to the owner, oc- <br /> cupant, or agent having charge of said land, and coupled with such <br /> statement shall be a notice subscribed by said commissioner of <br /> public works naming a time and place when and where said matter <br /> will be brought before the city council of Everett for hearing <br /> and determination, said statement and notice to be served, mailed, <br /> or posted, as the case may be, at least ten lays before the time <br /> for such hearing. At the time of such hearing, or at such other <br /> time to which the same may be continued or adjourned by said council, <br /> the said council shall proceed to examine said expense account, hear <br /> testimony if offered, and shall make such corrections in the nmount <br /> as it deems just, and shall thereafter levy and assess the amount <br /> of such expenditure against the lot or lots of land on which the <br /> same was expended, and shall declare the same a lien thereon, and <br /> shall require payment thereof to be mad& to the city treasurer <br /> within thirty days of the taking effect of such ordinance. The <br /> publication of said ordinance in the city official newspaper, as <br /> required by the charter, shall be sufficient notice of such lien <br /> and assessment, <br /> section 7: Any person or persons guilty of violating any <br /> of the provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon conviction, be <br /> fined in a sum not exceeding one hundred (T100) dollars, or be <br />
