Our DCIP grant was supported by Naval Station Everett as an important
project for the security of the Navy base and region. The current boathouse is failing due to age
and poses a threat to expensive equipment and the environment. This project entails
constructing a new boathouse that will provide storage for a police boat, dive equipment, and
office space allowing quicker response to emergencies in the port and surrounding areas that are
critical to the nation's economy and defense.
The projected completion date is June of 2027.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the Mayor or her designee to sign all necessary documents and agreements for the
Defense Community Infrastructure Program Grant agreement in the amount of $300,000.

City Council Agenda Item Cover Sheet
