Everett Community College February 10,2023 Page 2 <br /> is our opinion that foundation subgrades were prepared in general accordance with the project plans and <br /> specifications. <br /> Structural Fill Evaluation <br /> We observed and evaluated placement and compaction of structural fill throughout construction.Structural <br /> fill was placed to support foundations and floor slabs, backfill utility trenches, and raise site grades for the <br /> parking lot. Based on our observations, evaluations and test results, it is our opinion that structural fill <br /> placement and compaction was completed in general accordance with the project plans and specifications. <br /> Foundation Drainage Evaluation <br /> We observed installation of the subsurface drainage during our site visits.The subsurface drainage for the <br /> building consists of an exterior perimeter foundation drain and an underslab drain system. Based on our <br /> observations, it is our opinion that the subsurface drains were installed in general accordance with the <br /> project plans and specifications. <br /> Pavement Subgrade Evaluation <br /> We evaluated pavement subgrade soils for the parking lot. Where present, soft or disturbed soils were <br /> removed below pavement areas and replaced with approved structural. Structural fill placed in pavement <br /> areas consisted of either 11/4-inch minus crushed gravel or imported gravel borrow. Based on our <br /> observations, it is our opinion that pavement subgrades were prepared in general accordance with the <br /> project plans and specifications. <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> Based on observations and evaluations,we conclude that the work discussed herein for the EvCC Learning <br /> Resource Center has been completed in accordance with the intent of our recommendations and the <br /> project plans and specifications that were approved by the City of Everett. <br /> We trust this letter meets your current needs.
