ORDINANCE NO. . <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to the maintenance of dairies <br /> for the production of certified milk and certified cream, to the <br /> keeping, production, handling, transportation, sale and disposi- <br /> tion of certified milk and certified cream, providing for the <br /> inspection, regulation and control of all dairies , utensils and <br /> general equipment used therein and such products thereof , of the <br /> manner of keeping, producing, handling, transporting, selling and <br /> disposing of certified milk and certified cream, the issuance <br /> of certificates , the appointment of a certified milk commission, <br /> providing penalties for the violation thereof and the repealing <br /> of all ordinances or parts in conflict thereof., and declaring an <br /> emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN : <br /> Section 1 : The term certified milk" , as used in this ord- <br /> inance , shall be construed to mean and include , milk drawn from ani- <br /> mals free from disease and all conditions of whatever kind that might <br /> deteriorate the quality of the milk. Certified milk shall be pro- <br /> diced from animals free from tuberculosis as shown by the tuberculin <br /> test or other accepted tests for the detection of tuberculosis. Cer- <br /> tified milk shall not contain more than ten thousand. (10,000) germs, <br /> or bacteria, of all kinds to the cubic centimeter, with an acidity <br /> not higher than two tenths (0.2%) percent . Certified milk shall <br /> not contain less than three and one half (3.5%) per cent butter fat <br /> and shall have a specific gravity not less than 1 .029 or over 1 .034, <br /> nor shall the percentage of total solids be less than twelve and <br /> one half (12.5%) per cent . Certified milk must be produced and <br /> handled under cleanly conditions not subjected to heat , bottled and <br /> sealed on the farm within two hours after being drawn from the <br /> animal , and maintained at a temperature not higher than fifty de- <br />
