ORDINANCE NO0 M3 <br /> An ordinance providing for the acquisition of the water <br /> system now used for the purpose of supplying the city of Everett <br /> and the inhabitants thereof with water, and all property and rights <br /> of every kind used in connection with said water system as a part <br /> thereof, and directing the city attorney to institute condemnation <br /> proceedings for the purpose of acquiring said water system, and all <br /> property and rights of every kind used in connection with said water <br /> system, from the Everett Railway, Light & Water Company, a corpora- <br /> tion, and any and all persons, associations and corporations having <br /> any right, title, interest or estate in and to said property, and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, By Ordinance No. 1663, passed June 20, 1915, <br /> the city council of Everett proposed a system or plan for acquiring <br /> by purchase or condemnation the water system now used for supplying <br /> the said city and the inhabitants thereof with water, and the method <br /> for raising funds for paying therefor by water revenue fund bonds, <br /> and ura s <br /> WHEREAS, The said system or planAby said ordinance <br /> referred to the voters of said city, at an election called for and <br /> held on the 24th day of August, 1915, and at said election the said <br /> voters ratified and adopted said system and plan, and authorized a <br /> bond issue to carry same into effect, and <br /> WHEREAS, The city of Everett and the said city council <br /> intends to acquire: and use the said water system for the purpose of <br /> supplying the said city and the inhabitants thereof with water, and <br /> WHEREAS, The city council has entered into negotiations <br /> with the owners of said water works system, for the purchase of said <br />
