The planter soils will be <br /> refreshed by removing old bark mulch, tilling soils, and adding amendments. We are replanting with <br /> adaptive plant species known for their tolerance to drought conditions. After replanting, the plant bed will <br /> then be topped with 3"of bark mulch to retain moisture in the soil. <br /> Modification to Irrigation Plan Requirements: In lieu of providing an irrigation system to irrigate the new <br /> plantings, we request a modification to allow hand watering for a 5-year plant establishment period. <br /> We request a modification to the Irrigation Plan Requirements for the following reasons: <br /> 1. The existing site does not currently have an irrigation system. <br /> 2. Installing an irrigation system would impact existing pavement and degrade the existing pavement <br /> through that process. <br /> 3. The area of replanting is small, only 512 sq.ft. <br /> 4.
