SNO-ISLE TECH 2O23 SMALL WORKS Section 01 1150, Page 1 <br />McGRANAHAN ARCHITECTS ALTERNATES <br />ALTERNATES <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. This Section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for Alternates. <br />B. Definition: An Alternate is an amount proposed by Bidders and stated on the Bid Form for certain construction <br />activities defined in the Bidding Requirements that may be added to or deducted from Base Bid amount if the <br />Owner decides to accept a corresponding change in either the amount of construction to be completed, or in the <br />products, materials, equipment, systems or installation methods described in Contract Documents. <br />1. Alternates are to be bid as separate, distinct units of work, including all related overhead and profit. <br />1.02 ACCEPTANCE OF ALTERNATES <br />A. Alternates quoted on Bid Forms will be reviewed and accepted, rejected, or deferred for a later decision at <br />Owner's option. Alternates accepted at the date of Award of Contract will be identified in the Owner -Contractor <br />Agreement. <br />B. Coordination: Coordinate related Work and modify or adjust adjacent Work as necessary to ensure that Work <br />affected by each accepted Alternate is complete and fully integrated into the project. <br />!, C. Notification: Immediately following the award of each subcontract, prepare and distribute to each party <br />involved, notification of the status of each Alternate. Indicate whether Alternates have been accepted, rejected, <br />or deferred for consideration at a later date. Include a complete description of negotiated modifications to <br />"- Alternates. <br />1.03 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A. Section 00 40 00 - Bid Form. <br />B. Section 00 20 00 - Instructions to Bidders. <br />1.04 SCHEDULE OF ALTERNATES <br />A. Schedule: The "Schedule of Alternates" is included below. The Drawings contain requirements for materials <br />and methods necessary to achieve the work described under each Alternate. Include as. Part of Each Alternate, <br />miscellaneous devices, accessory objects, and similar items incidental to or required for a complete installation <br />whether or not mentioned as part of the Alternate. <br />I . Alternate Bid No. P 1. 1: Installation of new light fixtures — Diesel Tech High -bay shop. <br />a. Description: Demolish and remove existing light fixtures. Provide new light fixtures as shown on the <br />Electrical Drawings. <br />b. Base Bid: Provide no new lighting. Existing fixtures to remain. <br />2. Alternate Bid No. P 1.2: Installation of new light fixtures — Machine Tech Shop <br />a. Description: Demolish and remove existing light fixtures.
