550 <br />REVIEW RESDONSE <br />8. The Kitchen in the Upper Plan 1/A2.1 should be enclosed and separated from the Living <br />Room/Dining Room area by walls. See Sections R106.1.1 and R301.1. The following <br />comments should be addressed: <br />a. The demolition of the walls should be shown in the plan. <br />b. The roof structure should be evaluated for impacts to the load path. Addition <br />modifications may be required. <br />• Noted, refer to Sheet A2.1 demo plan to sae the existing condition and <br />Structural plan for the roof structure and impact of the load path. <br />9. The project requires a whole house ventilation system per IRC Section R303.4. The <br />drawings should show the location(s) of the system component(s), and specify the <br />performance requirements per Section M1505.4.1. The system should be located in a <br />central area that is open to and has unobstructed air flow with the majority of the habitable <br />space. Alternatively, if the system is not centrally located, the system should provide <br />ducting to each room of the house per Section M1505.4.1.1, and the drawings should <br />specify a requirement for testing to verify air flow rates per Section M1505.4.1.6. The <br />system should not have a sound rating exceeding 1.0 Bones. <br />• Please refer to sheet A2.2 to seethe whole house verdilation system <br />calculation <br />10. Seismic restraints should be provided for the tank water heater per Section M1307.2. <br />• Refer to Sheet A2.2 to sea the notation for the water heater anchorage <br />11. The bathroom exhaust fans in Upper Plan 1/A2.2 should be shown as new.
