WPCF Headworks Replacement Project Scope of Work <br />29 <br /> <br />requirements. This support includes transmitting conceptual plans for evaluation, facilitating <br />communication, advising on field activities, and reviewing geotechnical data and engineering reports. <br />Activities/Approach <br /> Facilitate regular coordination calls between the BC engineering team and project <br />geotechnical subconsultant. <br /> Provide input on scope, methodology, and logistics of geotechnical site investigations. This <br />work includes advising on borehole locations, sampling strategies, and testing protocols to <br />confirm data adequacy for design needs. <br /> Review geotechnical field data, logs, and laboratory results for consistency and <br />completeness. <br /> Provide technical review of geotechnical reports and memos to align with project design <br />criteria and standards. <br /> Serve as a point of technical coordination between the structural design team and <br />geotechnical engineer in selection of foundation types and seismic design criteria. <br />Task Assumptions <br /> The geotechnical subconsultant will be responsible for executing all field investigations and <br />reporting work. <br /> BC site visit attendance will be completed under Phase 100, Task 120. <br />City Responsibilities <br /> Support subconsultant site visits as needed. <br /> Attend calls with project geotechnical team as needed. <br />Meetings <br /> Attend bi-weekly calls with project geotechnical team and structural engineer to discuss field <br />exploration plans, review findings, and develop design strategies <br />Work Products <br /> Meeting notes summarizing key decisions and action items <br /> Written comments and markups on geotechnical deliverable including, but not limited to, <br />geotechnical investigation plan, field logs and lab rests, and draft geotechnical reports <br />Deliverables <br /> None <br />Phase 350 Cost Estimating <br />Phase 350 includes all work for the development of cost estimates to support project budgeting, <br />design decisions, value engineering, and project phasing and planning. Phase 350 includes cost <br />estimating for both the site preparation and headworks packages. <br />Construction cost estimates will be prepared to industry standards but will be subject to many <br />difficult to predict influences including, but not limited to, future labor and materials escalation, <br />schedule impacts, unknown or latent conditions of existing equipment or structures, local market <br />factors, tariffs, and time or quality of performance by others. These types of factors are difficult to <br />forecast and are out of the control of BC. Actual costs may vary substantially from the estimates <br />prepared by BC.
