Structural calculations should not be included in the construction drawing set. The <br /> calculations should be provided in a separate package. <br /> 16R. Stamped structural calculations provided with this letter. <br /> 17. The new beam has been engineered per Section R301.1.3. The design appears to <br /> require revisions <br /> 17R. Engineering for the beam provided with this letter. Span, grade, and beam size clarified on the <br /> floor plan. No revisions required <br /> 18. The project includes construction of a new rear porch. Plans and details should be <br /> provided complying with IRC Section R507. The porch should comply with the egress <br /> requirements of Section R311. <br /> 18R. The porch is 3'-6" by 5'-8". The framing is called out on the section view. Joists and footings meet <br /> the requirements ofR507 Notes added for ledger attachments to house. The lateral load on a deck this <br /> small is less than 50 lbs and is OK by inspection. <br /> 19. Details for the construction of the new walls should be included. The details should <br /> specify connections for the top and bottom framing plates to the existing structure. See <br /> IRC Sections R106.1.1 and R301.1 <br /> 19R. Wall details have been added to the section view. Plate connections are per the fastener schedule <br /> in accordance with R602.3(1). <br /> R106.1.1 is a generic statement about construction and does not mention wall details. <br /> R301.1 pertains to design criteria and general load path. These sections have nothing to do with the <br /> comment. <br /> 20. A general fastener schedule should be provided per IRC Table R602.3(1). <br /> Providing a reference to this table in the drawings does not satisfy this requirement. In <br /> addition, the make and model of proprietary hardware should be specified where used <br /> for connections. <br /> 20R.
