REPORT SUMMARY
1) General Information
a) This report is based on actual field readings taken during operation unless otherwise noted.
Work was completed on: 6.26.2025
b) Equipment is inspected for proper and safe operation unless noted in this summary or the
associated data contain herein
c) Work requiring adjustments will be performed to+/-10%of the design value unless other
specifications require increased/decreased tolerances and approval by the Engineer of
Record (EOR) or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Flow rates were measured with
calibrated instruments and are listed on the tool summary
d) All suggestions to further improve performance or function need to be fully vetted and
verified by all interested parties (i.e. Engineer, Owner,Tenant, Contractor)
e) Deficiencies noted throughout this report are the responsibility of the parties having an
interest in them and are not to be corrected by the TAB team unless instructed in the
contract documents. Notes are added for clarification as applicable
f) Design information is drawn from various sources to include, but not limited to: Drawings,
specifications, user manuals, shop drawings, submittals, service history, legacy documents,
and oral & photographic information. Additionally, unspecified values may be field
determined as required in the absence of engineered values, based on current best
practices
2) Scope of the Project (Overview)
a) Balance 1 new Greenheck exhaust fan that serves a fume hood in the machine shop
b) Balance 1 new Mitsubishi fan coil unit that serves the machine shop area
c) Balance 1 new Mitsubishi energy recovery ventilator system that serves the machine shop
3) System Description
a) Upblast type exhaust fan that is connected to an owner provided fume hood as well as 2
additional inlets at the ceiling on either side of the fume hood. Welded stainless steel duct
system. Controlled by a switch located on the fume hood face.
b) Split system fan coil unit that serves the machine shop area as is controlled by a stand alone
thermostat located within space.
c) Plate exchanger style energy recovery ventilator system that conditions the fresh air being
introduced to the machine shop space.
4) Findings
a) Units were balanced to design specifications.
b) Exhaust fan system operates at full speed to maximize exhaust airflow from the fume hood
which was approved by the mechanical engineer.
velocity 440 .: 98032
