Exhibit A <br />Justification for creating New Item No. 109 <br />This item will be used to compensate the contractor for providing and installing HVAC Equipment <br />as an enhanced safety feature in the Flow Meter Vault. <br />New Item No. 110: Revised topsoil Import. Add new Unit Price item No. 110 entitled, <br />“Revised topsoil Import” by adding 250 Cubic Yards (CY) at a Unit Price of $34.12 per CY <br />resulting in an increase to the contract of $8,530.00. <br />Justification for creating New Item No. 110 <br />This item will be used to compensate the contractor for providing and placing import topsoil due <br />to there being no existing topsoil for reuse. <br />New Item No. 111: Res 4 Valve Vault Modifications. Add new Lump Sum item No. 111 <br />entitled “Res 4 Valve Vault Modifications” in the Lump Sum amount of $39,084.55 resulting in <br />an increase to the contract of $39,084.55. <br />Justification for creating New Item No. 111 <br />This item will be used to compensate the contractor for conducting modifications and partial <br />demolition of the existing valve vault at Res 4 to complete the regulatory physical separation of <br />Res 4 from potable transmission lines. <br />New Item No. 112: Chlorination Building Fixture Upgrade. Add new Lump Sum item No. 112 <br />entitled “Chlorination Building Fixture Upgrade” in the Lump Sum amount of $8,583.49 resulting <br />in an increase to the contract of $8,583.49. <br />Justification for creating New Item No. 112 <br />This item will be used to compensate the contractor for upgrading light fixture in the Chlorination <br />Building. <br />New Item No. 113: SDMH 001 Pipe Connection Modification. Add new Lump Sum item No. <br />113 entitled “SDMH 001 Pipe Connection Modification” in the Lump Sum amount of $86,663.45 <br />resulting in an increase to the contract of $86,663.45. <br />Justification for creating New Item No. 113 <br />This item will be used to compensate the contractor for impacts due to unforeseen alignment and <br />sequence conflicts. <br />Washington State Sales tax. The sale tax rate of 9.9 percent applied to these changes will result <br />in an increase to the contract of $52,103.21. <br />Time: There will be no added time to the Contract for this change.
