ORDINANCA No. 16t <br /> An ordinance amending Sections 11, 15, 18, 20, 25, 40, 47, <br /> and 49 of Ordinance No. 1531 of the city of Aver tt, passed July <br /> 8, 1913, and published July 10, 1913, and entitled "An ordinance <br /> regulating travel and traffic on the streets of the city of Averett, <br /> providing penalties for the violation thereof, repealing ordinances <br /> numbers 1307, 1321, 1352, 1440, 1510, and 1516 of the city of <br /> Averett, and declaring an emergency", and declaring an emergency. <br /> THn CITY OF AVARATT DOS ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 11 of Ordinance No. 1531 of the <br /> city of nverett, passed July 8, 1913, and published July 10, 1913, <br /> and entitled as above set forth, be, and the same is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> CROSSING STR AT OR BACKING. <br /> Section 11: Avery driver or operator of a motor vehicle <br /> crossing from one side of the street to the other, or turning from <br /> one street into another, shall give warning to all persons using <br /> such street or streets of his intention to cross from one side of <br /> such street to the other, or to turn from one street into another, <br /> by extending the arm horizontally; and before backing, ample warning <br /> shall be given by some proper signal, and while backing, unceasing <br /> vigilance .must be exercised so as not to injure vehicles or persons <br /> in the rear. <br /> Section 2: That Section 15 of said ordinance No. 1531, be, <br /> and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 15: No person shall ride, drive or propel any <br /> automobile or other motor vehicle, between the hours of sunset and <br />
