• <br /> Section 7: That Section 47 of said Ordinance No. 1531, bey <br /> and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> RIDING ON RUNNING-BOARD. <br /> Section 47: It shall be unlawful for any person or for <br /> the driver or operator of any automobile or motor vehicle to <br /> permit a person to ride upon the running-board of any automobile <br /> or motor vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person, or for <br /> the driver or operator of any bicycle, tricycle , or motorcycle to <br /> permit any person to ride upon any such bicycle, tricycle or motor- <br /> cycle except in a seat provided for the carrying of passengers. <br /> Section 8: That Section 49 of said Ordinance No. 1531, <br /> be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 49: Any person violating any of the provisions of <br /> this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon <br /> conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine in any sum not <br /> exceeding one hundred ( loo) dollars , or by imprisonment in the <br /> city jail for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days, or by both <br /> such fine and imprisonment. <br /> Section 9: VTHARAA.S, The above ordinance is necessary <br /> for the protection of persons traveling upon the streets of the <br /> city of .!lverett, an emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinan- <br /> ce shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> (-OVA <br /> Mayor. <br /> Passed JUL I 1915 <br /> Attest 4/-c.A__4 __ <br /> City C er . <br /> Published J U L 1 1915 <br />
