light, heat, power and fuel, and to prepare plans for constructing, <br /> such a system, if found practicable, and to submit said plan or <br /> system to the voters of said city; and to authorize said council to <br /> make the proper and necessary appropriation for securing such data <br /> and information, and to prepare plans for constructing an electric <br /> system for said city, and to submit said plans to the voters of said <br /> city, and authorizing said council to make the necessary and proper <br /> appropriation for securing said data and information. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the city council of the city of Everett <br /> be, and it is hereby authorized and directed to secure as soon as <br /> - possible all necessary data and information ccncarning the practi- <br /> cability of developing and constructing, a plant for generating elect- <br /> ric current by water power in the Sultan River, and transmitting the <br /> same to the city of Everett for the purpose of furnishing said city <br /> and its inhabitants with light, heat, power and fuel, and it is <br /> hereby authorized to make the proper and necessary appropriation to <br /> pay the cost of securing such data and information. <br /> Section 2: When the city council secures such data and <br /> -information, it is hereby authorized and directed to prepare plans <br /> for securing and developing such water power, and for the construc <br /> tion of a plant to generate electric current and transmit the same <br /> to the city of Everett for the use of said city and its inhabitants <br /> for the purposes of light, heat, power and fuel, and to prepare <br /> plans for securing the funds necessary to acquire and construct such <br /> electric system, if the same should be found to be practicable, and <br /> submit said plans to the voters of the city of Everett." <br /> Section 3: That the form of the ballot to be used in sub- <br /> mitting said proposed ordinance at said election shall be as f'ol <br /> lows: <br /> PROPOSITION NO. 3. <br /> An ordinance authorizing and directing the city council <br /> of the city of Everett to procure the necessary data and information <br /> concerning the practicability of the development and construction <br /> by said city of a plant for generating electric current by water <br /> power in the Sultan. River, and transmitting the same to the city of <br /> Everett for the purpose of furnishing said city and its inhabitants <br /> with light, heat, power and fuel, and to prepare plans for construct- <br /> ing such a system, if found practicable, and authorizing said council <br /> to prepare plane for constructing an electric system for said city, <br /> and to submit said plans to the voters of said city, and authorizing <br /> said council to make the necessary and proper appropriation for <br /> securing said data and information. <br /> FOR THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE <br /> AGAINST THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE <br /> Section 4: Said proposed ordinance shall be published <br /> once a week for tvo consecutive ,seeks in the city official newspaper <br />
