City of Everett 01 11 00 - 14
Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525

01 11 00 - 14 SUMMARY OF WORK
Category 2: Sensitive information
Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law.
3) Process Mechanical
a) The EPS process mechanical components include pumping
equipment and the associated conveyance piping. Pumping
equipment for the lift station encompasses three submersible
style pumps, 60-P-0101 through 60-P-0103. These pumps
convey flow to a common 24-inch diameter header.
b) The pump installations include associated suction and
discharge piping, mechanical couplings, and isolation and check
valves. The discharge piping is 24-inch diameter and routed to a
high point located beyond the building envelop, north of the
structure, before routing below grade.
c) The EPS is connected to the Area 40 Stormwater Treatment
System and Area 50 Distribution structure by an upstream 36-
inch diameter pipeline and subsurface manhole. The 36-inch
diameter pipeline is connected to the southern end of the pump
station wet well. Mechanical work at the lift station includes
connecting this pipe to the lift station wet well.
d) The pump station includes a pedestal mounted pump suction
elbow constructed at the pump station deck. This will serve as a
utility station for mounting pumps during onsite service.
4) Electrical
a) EPS electrical infrastructure includes power three 45
horsepower vendor supplied pumps. Each pump will be
controlled by an associated variable frequency drive. EPS
power will be routed from the Area 70 OMES building.
b) Power service to EPS includes service to the bridge crane and
trolly. This infrastructure includes a local disconnect, hand
station, and junction box.
5) Instrumentation and Controls
a) Installation and integration of the following Area 60
instrumentation types into the site control system.
1. Radar level
2. level float switches
3. Pressure
4. Magnetic flow meter
b) Fabrication, programming, testing, and installation of custom
control panels, including Remote Input/Output (RIO) panel and
Operator Interface Terminal (OIT).
6) Site Civil
a) Excavation and fill for wet well construction. The project site is
known to have areas of high ground water therefore the EPS
excavation work will require dewatering. See Volume 7
Attachment B, Geotechnical Engineering Report, for a
description of ground water conditions.
