City of Everett 01 11 00 - 15 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525 <br /> <br />01 11 00 - 15 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />Category 2: Sensitive information <br />Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law. <br />b) Subgrade construction includes implementation of trench safety <br />systems and dewatering. <br />1. The project site is known to have areas of contaminated <br />soils. Testing will be required for excavated materials. If <br />contaminants are found, excavated materials will require <br />hazardous waste disposal. See Floyd Snider Utility Property <br />Cleanup Action Plan Memorandum provided in the <br />specification appendices and 02 61 00 Removal and <br />Disposal of Contaminated Soils for additional information. <br />2. Dewatering activities require sampling and laboratory <br />analysis as needed to maintain discharge permit <br />compliance. <br />c) Re-grading and paving of site adjacent to EPS following <br />completion of lift station construction activities. <br />d) Installation of a sub grade jet grout wall west of the EPS (see <br />Area 10). <br /> <br />13. Area 70 Operations, Maintenance, and Electrical Service (OMES) Building <br />a. Area 70 modifications including converting the former blower building <br />to an operations break area, maintenance shop, and electrical room. <br />The operations break area includes a break room, locker room, <br />storage area, shower/restroom, and janitorial area. The upper level of <br />the operations break area will provide mezzanine level storage. The <br />OMES electrical room will serve as the central location for PGSF <br />electrical control and distribution equipment. In addition, a new <br />generator mounting pad will be constructed north of the building. Work <br />within Area 70 includes structural, architectural, building mechanical, <br />plumbing, electrical, and instrumentation and controls. <br />1) Structural <br />a) Structural modifications to the Area 70 building include framing <br />for facilities located within the operations break area. <br />b) Area 70 structural improvements include construction of a pile <br />supported generator pad north of the Area 70 building. <br />c) The Area 70 electrical room will include raised equipment <br />platforms for mounting electrical infrastructure. <br />d) Construction of stairways for accessing the secondary floor <br />mezzanine and storage area. <br />2) Architectural <br />a) Architectural modifications to the OMES structure include <br />internal and external improvements. <br />1. External <br />i. New external insulated paneling installed around the <br />entire structure. <br />ii. New roof, gutters, and downspout. <br />iii. New roll up door entryways. <br />iv. New canopies over existing entryways.
