City of Everett 01 11 10 - 1 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525 <br /> <br /> <br />01 11 10 - 1 GEOTECHNICAL INFORMATION <br />SECTION 01 11 10 - GEOTECHNICAL INFORMATION <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section identifies the geotechnical information provided for the Project and governs <br />the Contractor’s entitlement to rely on and use such information. <br />1.2 DESCRIPTION <br />A. The following geotechnical report is provided as a reference document to the Contract <br />Documents and a copy of the report is included in Attachment B in <br />Volume 7: <br />1. “Geotechnical Engineering Report, Port Gardner Storage Facility, Everett, <br />Washington, HWA, Project No. 2021-159-21, dated May 2025.” <br />Except as expressly otherwise referenced or provided in the Contract, the May 2025 <br />Geotechnical Report and the appendices thereto is not a Contract Document and is <br />provided solely as a reference document. Appendices A (Field Explorations), B <br />(Geotechnical Laboratory Testing Program), and C (Environmental Soil and <br />Groundwater Laboratory Analytical Results) are provided as Contract Documents. <br />B. The geotechnical information is not intended to be the Owner’s representations of <br />geotechnical conditions, except for those conditions at the specific times and locations of <br />the investigations. <br />1.3 GEOTECHNICAL INFORMATION USE <br />A. The Contractor shall make its own interpretations, evaluations and conclusions as to the <br />nature of the geotechnical materials and conditions to determine the difficulties <br />performing the Work affected by the geotechnical conditions. <br />B. In making interpretations, evaluations, and conclusions, use the geotechnical documents <br />and the available geotechnical information in a manner that includes a reasonable <br />interpretation after consulting with a registered professional civil engineer with <br />geotechnical expertise or a certified engineering geologist or a certified engineering <br />hydrogeologist with applicable expertise. <br />C. The Contractor may also, at no additional cost to the Owner, conduct other <br />investigations and tests it deems appropriate. Any additional Contractor obtained <br />investigation and test information shall be shared with the Owner. <br />D. The Owner does not warrant and specifically disclaims responsibility for the <br />interpretation by the Contractor of such geotechnical information. The Contractor shall <br />make its own interpretations, deductions, and conclusions as to the nature of the <br />materials to be excavated, the difficulties of making and maintaining the required <br />excavations, and the difficulties of doing other work affected by geotechnical conditions, <br />including dewatering and installing temporary shoring, and accept full responsibility, <br />thereof.
