Port Gardner Storage Facility - Facility Construction Package Bypassing and Dewatering <br />Project No. 157889 33 01 30.50 - 2 <br /> <br />6. Maintain pedestrian and vehicular traffic and comply with ADA regulations for access <br />to all residential and commercial property unless written approval is otherwise <br />obtained from the property owner allowing for reduced access. <br />a. The Contractor is responsibility to arrange all necessary access and temporary <br />construction agreements with all affected parties for the location of the bypass <br />pumping system. <br />7. The bypass pumping system shall be designed to normally maintain the wastewater <br />flow below the top of the pipe, without surcharging. <br />8. Before any sewage is bypassed, the complete bypassing system must be in place and <br />successfully pressure tested at 1.5 times the maximum operating pressure of the <br />system. <br />9. Notify the Construction Manager and Owner a minimum of 48 hours prior to initiating <br />bypass operations. <br />10. The bypass operation must be continuously monitored. <br />11. Immediately cleanup any spill that occurs, regardless of amount, and notify the <br />Construction Manager. <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Procedures: Section 01 33 00, SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES <br />B. Action Submittals: <br />1. Project-specific Bypass Plan(s). Contractor shall submit a separate bypass plan for <br />each Section of the project. <br />2. Project specific Odor Control Plan <br />3. Emergency Response Plan and Sewage Spill Prevention Plan <br />4. Bypass Plans: <br />a. Submit drawings and complete design data showing methods and equipment to <br />perform sewer bypassing for review and acceptance. The submittal shall include <br />the following information: <br />b. Drawings indicating the scheme and location of temporary sewer plugs and <br />bypass discharge lines. The drawings shall also show the method and location for <br />discharging the bypass lines. <br />c. Capacities of pumps, prime movers, and standby equipment. <br />d. Design calculations proving adequacy of the system and selected equipment. <br />e. Standby power source. <br />f. Staffing plan. <br />g. Show suction and discharge points with elevations & stationing on the design <br />plans. <br />h. Provide pump performance curves. <br />i. Submit calculations to verify suction lift of pumps has not been exceeded. <br />j. Noise control and exhaust control plans for pumping equipment. <br />k. Plan for disruption of sewer service laterals. <br />l. Bypass piping inspection plan.
