Port Gardner Storage Facility - Facility Construction Package Bypassing and Dewatering <br />Project No. 157889 33 01 30.50 - 3 <br /> <br />C. Informational Submittals: <br />1. Submit access and release documents including: <br />a. Record copies of executed right-of-entry and/or right-of-access agreements from <br />private property owners. <br />b. Record copies of executed waiver and release forms from the private property <br />owners. <br />1.03 JOB CONDITIONS <br />A. Protection: <br />1. In areas where flows are bypassed, all bypass flows shall be discharged per the <br />accepted bypass plan. No bypassing to the ground surface, receiving waters, storm <br />drains, or bypassing which results in soil or groundwater contamination or any <br />potential health hazards shall be permitted. <br />B. Scheduling: <br />1. The bypassing system shall not be shut down between shifts, on holidays or <br />weekends, or during work stoppages without written permission from the <br />Construction Manager. The bypass system will have an attendant around the clock <br />whose only duty is to maintain the bypass pumping system until the bypassing of that <br />specific pipeline is no longer required. <br />2. Schedule construction activities based on data National Weather Service Forecasts <br />to reduce the probability of high flows and/or surcharging from stormwater during <br />construction. Obtain a forecast of the weather conditions for the next five days at the <br />Site based on the National Weather Service forecast for as presented on the <br />following website: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=- <br />122.207&lat=47.989. Coordinate schedule with the Construction Manager. <br />1.04 PUGET SOUND NAVAL COMPLEX <br />A. Additional restrictions may apply and coordination is required with the Navy regarding <br />bypassing and shut down durations for maintenance of service and final connection. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 PUMPING SYSTEMS <br />A. Bypass pumping system criteria have been identified for this project. These criteria are <br />identified below. Projects that are in environmentally sensitive areas or that have a high <br />sewage flows will require one or more of these criteria as specified herein. <br />B. Criterion 1 - Bypass Pumping System with flows equal to or less than 2.5 MGD <br />1. Contractor shall maintain on site, the following minimum requirements for all bypass <br />pumping systems: <br />a. Sufficient equipment and materials to ensure continuous and successful <br />operation of the bypass and dewatering systems. The COMPLETE bypass system, <br />including all piping, shall be continuously monitored by Contractor personnel. <br />b. A system of pumps and piping operating on site to maintain a minimum 50% over <br />capacity of the anticipated maximum flow (as determined by the Contractor).
