<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. ________________ <br /> <br />An Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled Garfield Park Playground Renovation, <br />Fund 354, Program 109, to accumulate all costs for the project. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />A. The City Council recognizes the need to maintain and improve City playground amenities. <br /> <br />B. The City Council recognizes the value and need to provide Everett residents and visitors <br />opportunities for active recreation and children’s play area. <br /> <br />C. The City recognizes that the age of the playground equipment at Garfield Park has exceeded the <br />City’s life-cycle standard and that the playground equipment and playground surfacing should be <br />removed and replaced. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br />Section 1. A special improvement project fund is hereby entitled Garfield Park Playground <br />Renovation, Fund 354, Program 109. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization is hereby granted to the Parks and Facilities Department Director under <br />the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for conducting all tasks and performing all <br />necessary steps to accomplish the actions authorized by this Ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 3. The estimated cost for the renovation of the playground is $940,000. <br /> <br />Section 4. The sum of $940,000 is hereby appropriated to Fund 354, Program 109, Garfield Park <br />Playground Renovation. <br /> <br />A.
