The agreement allows the agencies to coordinate efforts and share resources to respond to serious criminal incidents that require specially
trained and equipped law enforcement personnel. This amendment increases the Region 1 SWAT revenue and expenditure budgets to reflect each participant’s
contribution toward equipment purchases for the regional team.
The Everett Police Department has seen a substantial increase in electronic devices containing digital evidence, including co mputers and cell phones. To address this, the
department received funding from the United States Secret Service to acquire a specialized storage structure that protects these devices from external electronic
interference. This equipment provides a secure environment for sensitive electronic devices, preventing the loss or destruction of evidence. As a result, the
department’s capacity to process and preserve digital evidence has been greatly enhanced.
The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs awarded the Everett Police Department (EPD) $253,900 of grant funds they received as part of the US Dept. of
Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistant: Project Safe Neighborhoods Formula Grant Program. The grant was approved by Council on April 9, 2025. The period of
performance is October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2026. These funds will be used to pay for the second year of the Flock S afety Program.
In April 2025, Council approved the amended professional service agreement with Northwest Fair Housing Alliance. It extended the completion date to 6/30/205. This
amendment proposes to increase the Afford/Supp Housing expenditure budget by $10,950 to cover the cost due to the extension.
