• <br /> Section 2: It shall be unlawful for any person to instal, <br /> alter or extend any electrical equipment without first obtaining a <br /> permit for such installation, alteration or extension, from the city <br /> electrician of the city of Averett. Any person desiring to obtain a <br /> permit for the installation, alteration or extension of any electrical <br /> equipment shall file an application for such permit with the city <br /> electrician, which shall state the name of the owner or the occupant <br /> of the premises, the location of the same, and the nature and extent <br /> of the work to be performed; provided,. that permits shall not be <br /> required for the replacing of broken electrical fixtures when such <br /> fixtures conform to the regulations contained in this ordinance. <br /> The electrician or deputy electricians shall issue such permits when <br /> the applications therefor comply with the provisions of this ordin- <br /> ance. <br /> Section 3: All work for which a permit shall be issued <br /> under the provisions of this ordinance, shall be done under the sup- <br /> ervision of the inspector at any and all times until its completion. <br /> Upon the completion of such work it shall be the duty of the person <br /> doing the same to notify the city electrician, within twenty-four <br /> hours after the completion of said work. The city electrician shall <br /> at once proceed to inspect the same, and if said work is in all <br /> respects in conformity with the provisions of this ordinance, he shall <br /> issue a certificate of final inspectiion, which shall contain the <br /> date of said final inspection, No electric current shall be turned <br /> on such electrical equipment, and no electrical equipment put into <br /> service, until such certificate be issued. <br /> Section 4: If, after being notified of the completion of <br /> any electrical work or electrical equipment hereinbefore specified, <br /> the inspector shall be unable to inspect the same within a period <br /> of twenty-four hours immediately following the service of said <br /> notice of completion, the city electrician may issue a temporary <br /> permit allowing curreq+t to be turned on such electrical equipment, <br /> pending the inspection of the work. <br />
