ORDINANC L NO. 1647 <br /> An ordinance amending Sections 14, 20, 24, 25, 40 and 47 <br /> of Ordinance No. 1229 of the city of . verett, entitled "An ordinance <br /> approving and adopting certain rules and regulations prescribed by <br /> the city of . verett for the construction or alteration of the <br /> plumbing of any building in said city, providing a penalty for the <br /> violation of said rules and regulations" , and declaring an emergency. <br /> THA CITY OF A'VAR.GTT DOTS ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1; That Section 14 of Ordinance No. 1229 of the <br /> city of .verett, passed October 17 , 1910, and approved October 17, <br /> ' <br /> 1910, and entitled as above set forth, be, and the same is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 14: There shall be a •Y" or a'combination "Y" <br /> and a one-eighth bend with a clean-out in at the foot of each <br /> vertical line of soil pipe and at the foot of each vertical line <br /> of kitchen sink waste pipe when vertical line of sink waste pipe is <br /> two feet or more from main soil waste or sewer pipe, and if sink <br /> waste pipe is of lead and entering a four inch lead bend a brass <br /> clean-out screw shall be wiped in at the foot of said pipe if the <br /> distance is four feet or more. Clean-out tO be the same size as <br /> pipe it serves. All clean-outs shall be closed by brass screw covers <br /> and shall be kept accessible, and in basement shall be kept above <br /> floor. <br /> Section 2: That Section 20 of said Ordinance No. 1229 <br /> be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 20:H'ach and every trap shall be ventilated with <br /> air pipe. Where the size of the trap is two (2) inches or more,the <br /> vent pipe shall start not more than two (2) inches from the water <br /> line of the trap, except "P" traps, which may be twenty (20) inches. <br /> In case of large sized traps , the vent pipe shall start from the <br /> lead bend, as close to floor as practicable, except slop sinks on <br />
