6. <br /> trap standards. The branch •T• of vent pipes shall set above the <br /> fixtures so that the vent cannot act as a waste pipe. No rubber <br /> couplings ox sialielangliorlifoilitsshall be used to connect pipes. <br /> All horizontal vent pipes shall have a grade of not less than one- <br /> fourth of one (1) inch to the running foot. All vent pipes and <br /> fittings shall be galvanized iron, brass or lead, or cast iron <br /> pipe, and there shall be at least ten (10) inches of lead pipe used <br /> above the floor. In all vent pipe connections sanitary fittings, <br /> when used for vent connections shall be either reversed or inverted <br /> and no vent pipe shall be used as a waste or soil pipe, and no <br /> waste or soil pipe shall be used as a vent pipe. The highest water <br /> closet when located within thirty (30) inches of the main soil pipe <br /> need not be separately ventilated, distance always to be measured <br /> from main soil pipe to floor line, both vertical and horizontal. All <br /> other fixtures when connected with the sewer or cesspool :.shall be <br /> provided with back-air or vent pipes. The branch "T" of vent pipes <br /> shall set at least ten (10) inches above top of fixture it serves. <br /> All vent pipes when connecting together, and also when connecting to <br /> main,soil or vent pipe, shall have the branch "T" at least ten (10) <br /> inches above the tap of highest fixtury/ <br /> Section 3: That Section 24 of said Ordinance No. 1229 be <br /> and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 24: All sewer, soil and waste pipes shall be as <br /> direct as possible, Change in direction of pipes shall be made with <br /> a "Y" or half "Y" branch or one-eighth bend. Offsets can be made <br /> with a regular offset fitting not to exceed six (6) inches. Change <br /> in direction of sink pipe if over/ten (10) feet from clean-out, shall <br /> have a el earl mo t at every turn where turn would necessitate more than <br /> one-eighth bend. Sanitary "T"s shall be used in vertical lines only. <br /> No one-fourth bends shall be used unless unavoidable and shall be <br /> eppecially set forth in plans and specifications.
