Sedtion4Q; A11` nr s :ellars, areas, and basements must be prop- <br /> erly drained. The cellar or basdment drains of residences must not <br /> be less than two inches in diameter; drains in all other buildings <br /> to be not less than four inches in diameter. All drains to be <br /> protected from back-water by a back-water valve; and said back-water <br /> valve must be provided with water and air-tight clean-out cover <br /> placed immediately above valve, either screwed or bolted in place, <br /> capable of being removed for examination or repairs. All cellar and <br /> basement drains must be properly trapped and where the natural flow <br /> of water is not continuous must be supplied with water drip to assure <br /> a continuous seal in dry weather. All of above drainc, including <br /> drains for stores or dairies, shall be classed as fixtures, when con- <br /> nections are two (2) inches or over, and connect to sewer. <br /> Section 6: That Section 4ig" of said Ordinance No. 1229 <br /> be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 47: For the purpose of this ordinance the term <br /> "dwelling house" shall be held to mean and include any house used <br /> by one or more persons for housekeeping, consisting of one or more <br /> rooms, having sleeping and cooking accommodations in connection. <br /> The terms "apartment" , "tenement" and "flat" shall be held to mean <br /> any suites or combinations of rooms consisting of two or more rooms <br /> used for housekeeping purposes, having cooking and sleeping accomo- <br /> dations in connection with each, whenever three or more such suites <br /> or combinations are located in one building, whether all are located <br /> on one floor or on separate floors. <br /> er"' Section 7: An emergency is declared to exist and this <br /> ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> 01 r 7/_(A <br /> Passed MAR 2 1._ <br /> Attest <br /> amity T er . <br /> MAR 2 5 <br /> Published; 1915 <br />
