Section 4: That section 25 of said Ordinance No. 1229 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows; Section 25; In all buildings of three stories or less in height the vertical main soil,waste or vent pipe shall be carried full size to a height of at least ten (10) inches above the main roof on high side,except in case of flat roofs used for drying purposes, and in all such cases , they shall extend seven (7) feet above the roof and shall be suitably braced. In all buildings three stories or more in height the vertical main soil or waste pipe must be carried up to a point of convergence at either of the floors where branch soil and waste pipes may be carried to different points to receive the dischar- ge from groups of fixtures , each of these branch soil or waste pipes becoming a main line from point of convergence,and must extend full size through and ten (10) inches or more above the roof. If converg- ing or branch soil or waste pipes are less than four (4) inches in diameter, the main soil,waste or vent pipe shall not be diminished but shall remain full size and shall be carried in a most direct line ten (10) inches or more above roof. The size of these branches must - be regulated according to number and kind of fixtures discharging therein as provided elsewhere in this ordinance,and in no case shall these branches be less than two (2) inches in diameter. Pipes through roofs when within fifteen (15) feet of any window or opening of main house or any adjoining house shall be carried up undiminished to at least two (2) feet above all openings. If necessary to extend vent stacks more than ten (10) feet above leanto the vent stacks shall be offsetted and run through the main roof. There shall be no caps,cow» ells, ventilators or return bends put on the ends of pipes above the roof.All pipes extending through roofs of buildings must be properly flashed with lead or copper flashings ,known as "boot-leg flashing", and must be turned over top of pipe,when possible, to prevent leaking. section 5; That Section 40 of said Ordinance No. 1229 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows;
