<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. ______________ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION of the Everett City Council establishing priorities for the development of the <br />Outdoor Event Center. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />1. The City Council is purposefully advancing and strengthening the legacy of public and private <br />capital investment that has made Everett’s historic downtown truly exceptional. <br /> <br />2. The City Council is guided by values that include equitable development, public access, <br />environmental sustainability, and economic opportunity. <br /> <br />3. The City Council recognizes the significant impact that a new Everett Outdoor Event Center <br />(OEC) will have on the physical, economic, and cultural landscape of the city. <br /> <br />4. The City Council is committed to ensuring that the capital investment in the OEC provides lasting <br />benefits to city, businesses, our local community, and county residents. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT THE FOLLOWING PRIORITIES <br />FOR THE EVERETT OUTDOOR EVENT CENTER PROJECT ARE ESTABLISHED: <br /> <br />1. Fiscal Prudence and Timely Delivery <br />• Design a facility that aligns with available resources and prudent fiscal management <br />• Maintain a project schedule that meets City and key partner expectations while minimizing <br />construction impacts to adjacent neighborhoods and business districts <br />• Design flexibility into the facility to accommodate future growth and innovation <br /> <br />2. Economic Development and Local Investment <br />• Support long-term economic growth and stability for the City of Everett <br />• Fill the Outdoor Event Center with at least 100 annual games and events to draw hundreds <br />of thousands of people <br />• Activate existing local businesses during construction and during events <br />• Prioritize incorporation of and participation by local businesses in retail, vendor, and other <br />opportunities at the Outdoor Event Center <br />• Attract new businesses and professional athletic teams to the City of Everett <br />• Provide full relocation support to businesses displaced by the facility siting <br />• Support the success of surrounding community organizations including the Downtown <br />Everett Association, the Everett Station District Alliance, and the Greater Everett Chamber of <br />Commerce <br /> <br />8244
