The approximate location of
the property is illustrated on Plate 1 (Vicinity Map). The site is irregular in shape and vacant.
We conducted one site visit to access existing site conditions as part of preparing this report.
The site is bordered on all sides by vegetation. The Lowell Riverfront Trail passes near the site
along the north and east site boundaries.
The site has been subjected to past fill activities, resulting in a generally level topography
across the site, with approximately five feet or less of total elevation change. The site has been
cleared of vegetation, with scattered piles contained stumps, brush, and rubbish present along
the west site boundary.
Subsurface
The boring logs included in the referenced GeoEngineers report were reviewed. The
approximate boring locations are depicted on Plate 2 (Boring Location Plan). Please refer to
the boring logs provided in Appendix A for a more detailed description of the subsurface
conditions.
Topsoil
Topsoil was reported at one of the five boring locations and was limited to the upper six inches
of existing grades. The topsoil was characterized by dark brown color and the presence of fine
organic material.
Fill
Fill was reported at all five boring locations and consisted primarily of brown fine to medium
sand with trace gravel and brown or gray silty sand with gravel (Unified Soil Classifications SP
and SM). Fill depths were generally on the order of 11 to 20.5 feet with the soil in a moist to
wet condition. The fill material was largely devoid of deleterious debris and organic material
and was reported to be in a medium dense condition.
Earth Solutions NW,LLC
