PNW Home Builders, LLC ES-2598.03
May 2, 2013 Page 11
The AC, ATB and CRB materials should conform to WSDOT specifications. All soil base
material should be compacted to at least 95 percent of the maximum dry density. Final
pavement design recommendations can be provided once final traffic loading has been
determined. City.of Everett road standards may supersede the recommendation s provided in
this report.
Utility Support and Trench Backfill
Utility improvements will be necessary to accommodate the proposed level of development. In
our opinion, the soils within ten to fifteen feet of existing grades are considered suitable for
support of'utilities. These soils may be suitable for use as structural backfill depending on the
moisture content of the soil at the time of construction and the time of year that construction is
to take place. It should be noted that excessively loose or over-saturated soils should not be
used for supporting utilities.
Utility alignments must be subjected to a preload program: as described in a previous section.
Fills used to raise grades should be placed to the finish grade elevations and allowed to settle
as a preload.
LIMITATIONS
The recommendations and conclusions provided in this geotechnical evaluation are
professional opinions consistent with the level of care and skill that is typical of other members
in the profession currently practicing under similar conditions in this area. A warranty is not
expressed or implied. Variations in the soil and groundwater conditions reported at the test
locations may exist, and may not become evident until construction. ESNW should reevaluate
the conclusions in this geotechnical evaluation if variations are encountered.
Additional Services
ESNW should have an opportunity to review the'final design with respect to the geotechnical
recommendations provided in this report. ESNW should also be retained to provide testing and
consultation services during construction.
Earth Solutions NW,LLC
