Exhibit A <br />221 Gravel Backfill <br />for Drain <br />33 Ton $84.17 $2,777.62 <br />Total $19,521.51 <br /> <br />Justification <br />An underdrain system for retaining walls RW1 and RW2 is necessary as shown on the <br />contract plans. However, no bid items were designated for payment of this work. <br />Contract Time: There is no change to the Contract time. <br /> <br />Added 12” Diameter Ductile Iron Pipe – New Item 222 <br />This change order directs the Contractor to replace the damaged existing drainage system on the <br />Mukilteo approach embankment with new 12” diameter ductile iron pipe 62’ long between catch <br />basins 3 and 11as revised on Plan Sheet DR1, one new Type 1 Catch basin, and connection to the <br />existing drainage system, on the Mukilteo side slope. Compensation for this described work will be a <br />lump sum amount of $25,709.90. <br /> <br />Justification <br />The City of Mukilteo requested for the drainage system on the Mukilteo approach embankment be <br />replaced. This included removal and replacement of damaged pipes with 12” ductile iron pipe, a new <br />Type 1 catch basin, and connections to CBs 3 and 11. <br />Contract Time: There is no change to the contract working days. <br />Mukilteo Added 10” Diameter HDPE and Diffuser – New Item 223 <br />This change to the Contract directs the Contractor to salvage a portion of the existing HDPE pipe on <br />the Mukilteo north slope surface as directed by the Engineer, weld a new 10” diameter HDPE pipe <br />extension 24’ long with anchors, and install a new Engineer approved diffuser at the termini of the <br />pipe. The Contractor will be compensated a lump sum amount of $47,599.50 for removal and <br />disposal of a portion of the existing pipe, procurement and installation of the work described. <br />Justification <br />The existing HDPE pipe on the Mukilteo north slope was severely damaged and was leaking. The <br />City directed the Contractor to salvage the undamaged portion of the pipe and fuse approximately <br />24’ of new HDPE pipe to the existing drainage line and install a new City selected diffuser at the <br />termini of the pipe. <br />Contract Time: There is no change to the Contract working days.
