• <br /> • <br /> roleum or fuel oil upon premises now occupied and used for that <br /> purpose under authority of the city of Everett. <br /> Section 7, SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONCRETE CRUDE OIL STORAGE <br /> TANKS: Side walls at bottom of tank shall not be less than six ( 6) <br /> inches in thickness and shall be well re-enforced with three-eighth <br /> ( 3/8 ) re-enforcement steel or standard re-enforcement wire netting.. <br /> Top of tank to be not less than eight ( 8 ) inches in thickness and to <br /> be arched not less than two ( 2 ) inches in the center, and to be <br /> thoroughly re-enforced. Composition concrete shall be not more than <br /> four ( 4) parts gravel, two ( 2 ) parts of sand, one ( 1 ) part cement , <br /> with not less than ten percent of hydrated lime, the same to be <br /> thoroughly mixed dry before water is added. <br /> The manhole shall be covered with a steel plate not less <br /> than three-sixteenths (3/16 ) inches in thickness, thoroughly bolted <br /> down and male absolutely waterproof, and all pipes entering tank <br /> shall be entered through opening left in tank and thoroughly corked <br /> with oakum and either lead or pitch waterproofing put around the <br /> same. <br /> After completion of tank at least a quarter to one-half <br /> inch of plaster shall be spread on the inside of tank, sides, bottom <br /> and top, composed of one ( 1 ) p art of sand, one ( 1 ) part of cement, <br /> and two ( 2 ) per cent of medusa compound. <br /> Where concrete tanks are installed, inside the foundation <br /> wall the same shall have at least four ( 4) feet of dirt , and the' <br /> surface the same as provided in steel tanks. Where it is inadvisable <br /> to have the top of the tank below the basement floor there shall be <br /> built a wall around said tank to extend at least three (3 ) feet and <br /> six ( 6 ) inches above the floor, and there shall be at least four <br /> ( 4 ) feet of earth between any portion of sail tank and the outside <br /> atmosphere. The said walls shall be not less than four ( 4) inches in <br /> thickness. <br />
