<br /> <br /> <br />EVERETT POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br />PAGE 32 <br /> <br /> <br />ARTICLE 19 - MINIMUM CREW <br /> <br /> <br />19.1 General. <br /> <br />19.1.1 The City and the Association agree that for reasons of safety, the minimum <br />number of patrol officers actually in the field on any given patrol shift shall be as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Day Shift: Twelve (12) officers <br /> <br /> Night Shift: Thirteen (13) officers <br /> <br /> If, because of illness or other reasons, the established minimum of the assigned <br />officers are not actually out in the field, the Chief of Police or his designee shall <br />call in enough off-duty officers to bring the strength up to the required number of <br />officers. <br /> <br />19.1.2 Not included in the established minimum staffing are the following categories of <br />the Police Department Patrol Division. <br /> <br /> A. Foot patrol officers <br /> B. Bicycle patrol officers <br /> C. Uniformed Special Operations personnel <br /> <br />19.1.3 Supervisor minimums are defined as follows: <br /> <br /> Day Shift: Three (3) supervisors <br /> <br /> Night Shift: Three (3) supervisors <br /> <br /> If, because of illness or other reasons, the established minimum of the assigned <br />supervisors are not actually out in the field, the Chief of Police or his designee <br />shall call in enough off-duty supervisors to bring the strength up to the required <br />number of supervisors. If, the assignment of an acting supervisory position can <br />be made without effecting the aforementioned patrol minimum crew, this acting <br />supervisory appointment can be made at the direction of the Chief of Police or his <br />designee. <br /> <br />
