<br /> <br /> <br />EVERETT POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br />PAGE 5 <br /> <br /> <br />ARTICLE 5 - PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS <br /> <br /> <br />5.1 General. <br /> <br />5.1.1 Employees must provide to the Association a written, electronic, or recorded <br />voice authorization to have the City Deduct membership dues from an employee’s <br />salary. Once employee authorization is received, the Association shall forward <br />authorization to the City who shall deduct Association dues and assessments from <br />the employee's wages each month. The amount deducted shall be mailed each <br />month to the Association. <br /> <br />5.1.2 An employee may revoke the authorization of payments to the Association by <br />written notice to the City and Association. The City will cease the dues deduction <br />the next scheduled pay period following the notice of revocation of authorization <br />from the employee. <br /> <br />5.1.3 The Association agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the City harmless against <br />any and all claims, suits, orders and judgments brought against the City as a result <br />of any payroll deduction made on the Association's behalf. Payroll deduction <br />errors shall be adjusted within thirty (30) days after they become known and the <br />Association, any employee, or the City shall refund to the other any amounts paid, <br />received, or incorrectly withheld in error.
