• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. \ •ts ._ <br /> An ordinance regulating the keeping of and providing for <br /> the muzzling of dogs in t a city of Everett, and providing for the <br /> killing of diseased dogs and other animals in the city of Everett, <br /> and providing a penalty for the violation thereof, and declaring <br /> an emergency. <br /> Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to cause <br /> or permit any dog owned or kept by him, or under his control, to run <br /> at large on any street, alley, or other public place, or in any <br /> public hall , saloon, office, store , market, confectionery store, or <br /> other store during the time that said place is open for public <br /> business , t or in any hallway in any building occupied by two or more <br /> families within the city of Everett, at any time,unless such dog <br /> shall be securely muzzled so as to effectually prevent it from <br /> biting any person or animal; provided, if at any time the Board of <br /> Health of the city of Everett shall detetmine that it is unnecessary <br /> to muzzle dogs said Board shall cause to be published in the official <br /> paper of the city of Everett a notice stating that it shall be <br /> unnecessary to muzzle dogs within the city of Everett during the time <br /> set forth in said notice, and after the publication of said notice <br /> it shall not be necessary to muzzle dogs as required in this ordin- <br /> ance during the time stated in said notice. <br /> Section 2: Every person owning, keeping or having charge <br /> or control of any animal which shows symptoms of hydrophobia, or <br /> which has been exposed to said disease, shall cause such animal <br /> to be securely confined until it is determined whether or not such <br /> animal has hydrophobia or that such exposure has not given such <br /> animal said disease. It shall be the duty of every person owning, <br /> keeping or having charge of any animal which is mad or which has <br /> hydrophobia to immediately kill such animal , or cause the same <br />
