Exhibit A <br />Change Order No. 08 <br />Change Order Effective Date: 02/11/2026 <br /> <br />Exhibit A—Description of Changed Work <br /> <br />This change order encompasses four changes to the Contract as described below: <br /> <br /> <br />Addition of New Ornamental Handrail to Retaining Wall 2 (RW2) – New Item 224 <br /> <br />This change order directs the Contractor to install a new City of Everett standard drawing 42” <br />high ornamental handrail on top of RW2. The steel handrail shall be compliant with the <br />approved Submittal 264 shop drawings galvanized and powder coated black consistent with <br />approved submittal 265. Compensation for this change shall be for a lump sum amount of <br />$46,500 for procurement, shop drawings, fabrication, and installation of the handrail. <br /> <br /> <br />Justification <br /> <br />The ornamental handrail was agreed upon with the property owners during design but inadvertently <br />was not included in the Contract. <br />Contract Time: The contract duration is not impacted by this change. <br /> <br />Extension of Piers 2 and 3 Crossbeam Stirrups – New Item 225. <br />The Contractor is directed to extend the short #6 stirrups at Piers 2 and 3 crossbeam by lap splicing <br />4’ minimum #6 135-degree hooked bars to below the deck bottom mat rebars consistent with details <br />approved by RFI 116 response. The compensation for this change shall be a lump sum amount of <br />$12,549.60 for procurement and installation of added bars. <br /> <br />Justification <br />The stirrup lengths were specifically requested by the Contractor to be verified by the Engineer <br />during the shop drawing review. The Engineer inadvertently verified an incorrect length. The <br />crossbeam stirrups were short and did not extend into the deck. This extension is structurally <br />required for composite action between the deck and crossbeam. <br />Contract Time: There is no change to the contract duration due to this change. <br /> <br /> <br />
