e <br /> It shall be the duty of such officer to perform the duties relating <br /> to said office and the duties as defined by the ordinances of the <br /> city, and such other duties as the commissioner of public works shall <br /> direct. <br /> Section 13: There shall be in the office of the city <br /> electrician the following named officers and deputies , to-wit: City <br /> electrician, and deputy city electrician. It shall be the duty of <br /> said officer to perform the duties relating to said office, and per- <br /> form such other duties as may be provided by the ordinances of said <br /> city. It shall be the duty of said deputy to perform the duties of <br /> inspector of weights and measures, as defined by the charter and the <br /> ordinances of said city. <br /> Section 14: There shall be the following named officer in <br /> the employment office, to-wit: Amployment agent. It shall be the duty <br /> of such officer to maintain and do all work in connection with the <br /> maintenance and operation of the city employment bureau, and it shall <br /> be the duty of such officer to maintain said bureau in such manner <br /> and to make such reports as the commissioner of public works may <br /> authorize and direct. <br /> Section 15: There shall be in the department of public <br /> works two bridge tenders, and one scow tender. It shall be the duty of <br /> such officers to perform the duties indicated by the name of their <br /> respective employments , and perform such other duties as the com- <br /> missioner of public works shall direct. <br /> Section 16: The above named officers and assistante,un- <br /> less otherwise provided by the city charter, shall be appointed by <br /> the following persons , to-wit: The secretary to the mayor shall be <br /> appointed by the mayor; the stenographer to the commissioners shall <br /> be appointed by the commissioners; the clerk to the city attorney <br /> shall be appointed by the city attorney. The officers and assistants <br /> in the department of finance shall be appointed by the commissioner of <br /> finance; ,in the department of safety shall be appointed by the com- <br /> missioner of public safety; in the department of public works shall be <br /> appointed by the commissioner of public works.
